Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Mahesh Parmar, MPP for Tarana and candidate for mayor of Congress in the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) elections, filed his candidacy according to ‘Shubh Muhurta’ on Thursday.

Parmar arrived at 2:30 p.m. with supporters selected to submit nomination forms without a show of force. The chairman of the city’s Congress committee, Ravi Bhadauria, former UMC opposition leader Rajendra Vashisht and other members of Congress were present with him. Parmar presented his application documents to Ankita Dhakre, CEO of Zilla Panchayat in the building of the administration complex.

Parmar later told reporters that he had applied at the right time, as credited by veteran astrologer Pt Anand Shankar Vyas. Parmar said he visits the people of Ujjain regarding matters of public concern. He said that if the voters of Mahakal town elect him as mayor, then he would regularize the works of laying underground sewer pipes and end arbitrariness, provide easy availability of drinking water and a program for health, education and employment for Ujjain. also be executed. “If I am elected mayor, I will deliver birth and death certificates to the homes of people in need,” he added.

Regarding the contest against BJP candidate Mukesh Tatwal, Parmar said the public in Ujjain will decide much the same way. “The BJP is not a challenge in front of me and the mayoral candidate presented by them has never been in public happiness and misery, while I go to the smallest worker and the smallest person in happiness and pain,” he added.

Parmar declares assets of more than Rs 1 crore

According to the affidavit submitted by Mahesh Parmar, he declared cash and investments worth Rs 10156102.24. His wife has assets valued at Rs 7,49,320. Parmar also owns two SUVs, farm and non-farm land, and other real estate properties in the neighborhood. Parmar, 43 and a graduate, resides at 10, Nirman Nagar, near Ravindra Nagar (Ward 52). Three offenses are recorded against him by Madhav Nagar Police under Sections 147 and 341 of the ICC, by Mahakal Police Station under Sections 188, 269 and 270 of the ICC and by Kaytha Police Station under of articles 188, 341-34 of the CPI are pending before various courts.

CONG FORMS ELECTIONS CONDUCT COMMITTEES

In a meeting held Wednesday night at a private hotel on Dewas Road, the Congress Party formed various committees to organize the Ujjain Municipality elections, scheduled for July. Party sources have informed that former MP Satya Narayan Pawar has been appointed as the head of the central election committee. Similarly, former Chairman of the Municipal Congress Committee Anant Narayan Meena and former Corporal Ashok Sharma were appointed as the Head of Election Committee for Ujjain North and Ujjain South constituencies respectively.
