Final filing deadline is approaching for municipal candidates in the central Okanagan

The deadline is September 9 at 4:00 p.m.

Those interested in running for mayor, city councilor, school board trustee or regional district manager in the October municipal elections only have a few days left to submit their candidacy.

The deadline is September 9 at 4 p.m.

This applies to the City of Kelowna, City of West Kelowna, District of Lake Country, District of Peachland, and Central Okanagan Regional District (RDCO). Application documents must be filed with the respective municipal and DRCO offices.

Candidates for mayor and council need to collect the signatures of 10 nominators, while school board candidates, for the school board in School District No. 23, need two nominators.

General voting day is October 15.
