Municipal Waste Let It Rip on New Song’s Ode to Classic Metal

21st century thrash kingpins Municipal Waste let it blast on “High Speed Steel,” the scorching new song that serves as the band’s ode to classic heavy metal.

Drummer Dave Witte kicks things off with a spotlight and the guitars go racing fast as the Waste rips through the second single from their upcoming album electrified braintheir first since 2017 slime and punishment.

“’High Speed Steel’ is our ode to a time when heavy metal was shifting to a faster form. We pushed the boundaries of our sound to channel that classic dynamic and keep the intensity high. It’s about overcoming the pressure and reducing the odds when everything is against you,” comments guitarist Ryan Waste.

Mixing tracks pulled straight from the early 80s, the band emphasizes speed paying homage to artists of yore who toed the line between the New Wave styles of British Heavy Metal and the seething thrash movement.

Municipal waste, “High Speed Steel” lyrics

You feel the rush
You can’t control
Your mind is empty
The pressure is on
no give up
It’s time to start
power fuels
Your desire to turn this place to hell
The energy starts to rise
And start to swell

Born from iron
Strong as steel
Faster than all hell on wheels
Reach speeds from the unknown
Race to the Terror Zone

Made of metal
Stand as one
Load at the top
It can and will be done
A conquest of sound
It’s way too real
Fight the way back with
High speed steel

Born from iron
Strong as steel
Faster than all hell on wheels
Reach speeds from the unknown
Race to the Terror Zone
