PMC will execute the draft budget: municipal commissioner
Pune City Commissioner Vikram Kumar assured the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Monday that the works mentioned in the draft budget prepared by the City Commissioner would be carried out.
BJP Municipal Unit Chairman Jagdish Mulik and the local party unit met with the Municipal Commissioner on Monday and asked for details regarding various civic issues and ongoing works. They asked the civic leader whether the budget presented by former Standing Committee Chairman Hemant Rasne on the last day of the Municipal House term will be implemented.
Kumar said, “As the general body has not approved the budget of the standing committee for the year 2022-23, only the draft budget presented by the municipal commissioner will be executed and tenders will be issued accordingly. .”
The commissioner said: “The PMC administration would complete the pre-monsoon works before June 15 and tenders will be launched in the coming days. Necessary precautionary measures will be taken in flood prone areas of Ambil Odha.
Ganesh Bidkar, former leader of the House, said: “While the level of the roads is raised every time tar is added, the drain cover is not raised to the raised plain, causing inconvenience. during pre-monsoon works”.
Mulik said, “City administration has not yet issued work orders for nullah cleanup works as part of monsoon preparedness plans.”
BJP leaders briefed the city leader on the growing number of complaints from residents across the city regarding the threat of mosquitoes. They demanded the removal of hyacinth from water bodies.
BJP leaders have expressed concern over inflated property tax bills after the implementation of an additional 40% tax by the city administration.
Kumar said, “PMC administration will seek legal advice regarding the issue of 40% reduction on property tax.”
