Town Monitor for Horsham Rural Town Council appointed

Jude Holt has been appointed as the Town Comptroller to help guide good governance at Horsham Rural Town Council.

Local Government Minister Melissa Horne today announced the appointment of Ms Holt, who will support the council for six months until January 31, 2023.

Ms. Holt is a finance and governance professional with 30 years’ experience, holding senior management and executive positions for 20 years with Loddon Shire Council, three years with Mount Alexander Shire Council and two years with Coliban Water.

The appointment was made at the request of the Mayor and the Chief Executive of the Council following concerns about the Council’s ability to effectively serve the local community.

Ms. Holt will assist the Board in improving governance practices and ensuring that Councilors carry out their duties in accordance with Local Government Act 2020.

The Andrews Labor Government supports and enhances council culture statewide through initiatives such as the Local Government Culture Project and the Women Leading Locally program.
