A Town Monitor will be appointed to Horsham Rural Town Council to help guide good governance and shape its strong future.
Local Government Minister Melissa Horne today announced that a Comptroller will be appointed to Horsham Rural Town Council. The monitor, its conditions and other details will be named at a later date.
The decision was made at the request of the Mayor and Chief Executive of Council, who sought to ensure that Council has the guidance it needs to fulfill its role successfully and serve the local community effectively.
During his tenure, the City Comptroller will work closely with Horsham Rural Council to improve governance practices and support councilors to ensure they fulfill their roles in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020.
Andrews’ Labor Government supports and enhances council culture across the state through initiatives such as the Local government cultural project and the Local women leaders program.
